Thais Pereira Veiga

Predoctoral Student in the Liquid Biopsy Line of the Roche-Chus Joint Unit

Thais Pereira has a degree in Biology from the University of Vigo with a Masters in Molecular Biotechnology from Barcelona University. Her masters project was developed in the field of Colon Cancer at the Catalan Institute of Oncology. In 2011 she joined the Institute of Biomedical Research of Bellvitge (IDIBELL) passing in 2014 to form part of the Research Institute Vall d’Hebron (VHIR), where she gained experience in molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid isolation, primer design, qPCR, HRM, WB, functional assays with miRNAs , bisulphite sequencing and Fluidigm microfluidic chips; in addition to cell culture, multicolour flow cytometry and handling of biological samples and biobanks.

Thais is a predoctoral student in the Liquid Biopsy Line of the Roche-Chus Joint Unit, working under the supervision of Dr. Costa, doing her thesis in isolation, culture and characterisation of circulating tumor cells.
