The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline at self-dispensing stations in Los Angeles County rose for the fifth time in six days on Thursday, rising three-tenths of a cent to $4.578, a day after already rising six-tenths of a cent.
The average price has risen 2.3 cents over the past six days, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. That’s 1.9 cents more than a week ago, but 5.9 cents less than a month ago and 79.3 cents less than a year ago.
The average price has fallen by $1,916 since rising to a record high of $6,494 on October 5, 2022.
A three-tenths-of-a-cent drop to $4.505 ended a streak of four price increases in five days that raised the average price in Orange County by a total of three cents. That’s 2.3 cents more than a week ago, but 6.7 cents less than a month ago and 81.1 cents less than a year ago.
The average price in Orange County has fallen by $1,954 since rising to a record $6,459 on October 5, 2022.
The national average price was unchanged at $3.361, a day after a 13-day period of declines totaling 9.5 cents ended with a 1.1 cent increase, down 2.6 cents from a week ago, 14.4 cents from a month ago and 46.2 cents from a year ago.
The national average price has fallen by $1,655 since rising to a record $5,016 on June 14, 2022.
