After weeks of hints about an “unprecedented end” Jenn TranSeason of The Bachelorette ended with a bang on Tuesday, September 3rd.
The lead of the 21st season was announced during the After the last rose Follow, the winners Devin Strader broke off their engagement over the phone. Jenn claimed Devin said he “regretted” the proposal.
“He basically said he didn’t love me anymore and didn’t feel the same way about me,” Jenn recalled. “He was being investigated. That wasn’t what he wanted anymore.”
Jenn confronted Devin during AFRand asked why he followed her colleague Bachelor Candidate of the 28th season Maria Georgas on Instagram the morning after their split. She also claimed he went “clubbing” with a fellow competitor Jeremy Simons instead of mourning their separation.
Devin – who laughed awkwardly during the confrontation – explained that he had “a lot of doubts” after they left the show. “I told you too late, unfortunately,” he said.
At the beginning of the episode, Jenn’s family met Devin and Marcus during separate sessions. (During a frank conversation with Jenn’s brother, Jameshad asked Devin for his blessing.) The doctor’s assistant – who had previously told her two finalists that she was in love with them – eventually sent Marcus away before telling Jesse that she wanted to propose to Devin. ABC aired the proposal after Jenn and Devin’s awkward confrontation on AFR.
Before the show aired in July, Jenn revealed that the end of her journey had never happened before on Bachelor Nation. In the teaser for the season, host Jesse could be heard asking Jenn if she was happy with her decision before cutting to a scene where Jenn tells one of the men that she can’t let them propose to her.
“That moment with Jesse where he asked me if I was sure if I was going to do that or not, I think I can say now that I’m still not sure if I should have done that or not,” she teased. Good morning America Late last month. “I would say it’s very emotional and there are a lot of twists and turns. A lot of surprises.”
During an interview with We weekly Earlier this summer, Jenn claimed she was happy with the ending.
“I can say that I definitely opened my heart to a lot of different connections and explored a lot of these (men),” she said. “I’m very happy with how things turned out during the journey and how they ended.”
More recently, at the Men tell everything During the recording in August, Jenn reflected on how far she has come.
“I didn’t really know what to expect, but the best thing I’ve taken away from this is that I’ve learned so much and grown so much,” she said. “I’m so excited to take the lessons I’ve learned from this with me and I feel so much stronger after the trip.”
