Working from home continues to be an extremely popular option for people around the world, with a new study finding that the vast majority (83%) say they feel more productive in hybrid/remote environments than in the office or on-site.
A Zoom survey focused on knowledge workers appeared to confirm that many companies continue to support the remote work trend post-Covid: 50% of executives said they have adopted more flexible working styles in the past two years, and 82% plan to continue doing so in the future.
And despite the distance, hybrid employees even report feeling more connected to their teams and managers: 82% say they feel a stronger bond – compared to 72% of employees working in person.
The technology needs supplies
Almost all IT leaders surveyed confirmed that they use AI in their organizations (94%) and 84% of them say that it has had a positive impact on productivity.
However, almost two-thirds (64%) of employees said that generative AI in particular helps them do their jobs. This means that a significant proportion of the workforce is still not fully convinced by the technology.
However, most respondents agreed that their company’s remote working technology and tools need to be improved, with 75% saying their current equipment is inadequate.
Zoom’s results aren’t particularly surprising, as research has consistently shown that employees are happier and more productive when they have the option to work remotely.
Beginning of the month US Workplace Culture Report found that employees are 60% less likely to quit, enjoy their jobs more, and are 67% more likely to work harder when they can work from home.
Further research into workplaces has shown that many workplaces need to invest in tools and technology, as nearly two-thirds of office spaces are no longer optimized for remote work.
