1. Chiefs: This is the first team in nearly 20 years that has a chance to win three in a row and possibly the team with the best conditions to do so.
2. Lions: They have never been hunted before. This year they will be.
3. Packers: How good can Jordan Love be? We’ll find out soon.
4. 49ers: Contract issues resolved. Let’s see how quickly they can get their holdout and hold-in strategy up and running.
5. Ravens: Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson together? If both stay healthy, the Ravens could be as good as last year, if not better.
6. Eagles: Will two new coordinators save the head coach?
7. Bengals: Now is not the time to play contract tricks with Ja’Marr Chase.
8. Bills: Josh Allen seems more determined than ever to get the Bills where they want to go.
9. Buccaneers: Everyone doubts them and they love it.
10. Texans: Few teams have gone from hopeless to elite so quickly.
11. Dolphins: Expectations are high. We will find out whether they can deliver after Thanksgiving.
12. Browns: They were great despite making a mistake with the Deshaun Watson trade. How much better would they be if they had looked elsewhere for a quarterback?
13. Bears: Nearly 40 years after their dominant defense, the offense could be on the verge of exploding.
14. Jets: They don’t need Haason Reddick to compete, but it would help to have him.
15. Steelers: It’s the Russell Wilson show, and he could potentially turn back the clock to before 2022.
16. Falcons: Late defensive additions could make them ready to challenge the Bucs.
17. Rams: Good health is important for any team, but nowhere is it more important for the Rams.
18. Chargers: Never underestimate Jim Harbaugh’s ability to bring a team back into the spotlight.
19. Cowboys: Can they put the drama aside and get some wins?
20. Jaguars: Owner Shad Khan is now expecting a win. Will that pressure give them a kick in the butt or will it cause panic?
21. Colts: They get an early chance to show everyone that the Texans shouldn’t be the projected division champions.
22. Seahawks: Their uniform in Week 1 is reminiscent of the 70s. Their game needs to go back to 2013.
23. Broncos: Will the playoff drought finally end?
24. Saints: For Derek Carr, it’s up or down. And possibly for many others too.
25. Vikings: Sam Darnold will either save the season or secure a chance at a top-five pick in the draft.
26. Titans: It’s great to have low expectations, especially when maybe they shouldn’t be so low.
27. Commanders: If Jayden Daniels is the right man, the Commanders will continue to rise.
28. Raiders: Gardner Minshew is a natural Raider. If he delivers, the Raiders can win.
29. Giants: Their 100th season probably won’t end like the four since 1986 that ended with parades.
30. Cardinals: Someone has to be number 30. If Kyler Murray can get back to his old form, the Cardinals won’t be this team for much longer.
31. Patriots: Why take a player at third if he is not ready to play right away?
32. Panthers: The offseason is all about creating plausible hopes. It doesn’t get more implausible than in Charlotte.
