More than 1,000 senior citizens did not miss the state senior citizens hiking day on August 30, 2024 in Tschantschendorf, Güssing district. Delegations from Neckenmarkt and Kroatisch Geresdorf also hiked the challenging route.

Every cent was invested in the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the municipality of Wiesfleck, which was severely damaged and destroyed by the flood, said Mayor Christoph Krutzler.
Neckenmarkt hiking group
A hiking group from Neckenmarkt also traveled south to take part in the seniors’ hiking day. The 12-person group mastered the four and seven kilometer hiking routes with flying colors. A laboratory station along the route provides refreshments. The nationwide seniors’ hiking day was concluded in the marquee with a cozy get-together with traditional music, tasty food and cold drinks.
