→ Winston Churchill against online rights
The online right has found a strange new bogeyman: Winston Churchill. In a new interview with Tucker Carlson, guest Darryl Cooper – the man behind the online account Martyr Made – called Churchill “the greatest villain of World War II” and blamed the man widely hailed as the “greatest Briton” for making the conflict “something other than an invasion of Poland.”

Conservatives immediately criticized Cooper and Carlson, with one commenter calling the statements “incredibly uninformed.” But several anonymous right-wing accounts echoed the idea, portraying the prime minister as a poster child for the foreign policy interventionism that the right has recently learned to abhor. Will Churchill’s German counterpart be rebranded next?
→ UPenn faculty salutes Hamas
The University of Pennsylvania’s Palestine Justice School posted a post on Instagram praising the October 7 Hamas attacks. “We applaud the steadfastness and resistance of our people,” said the post, which was originally shared by several other pro-Palestinian groups. It also called for a “global day of action” on October 5 “to mark this year as a year in which our people stood up against Zionism.”

FPJP, a group of faculty, staff and alumni at the Ivy League university, was founded earlier this year in response to Penn’s “one-sided” approach to the conflict. Long live diversity of opinion.
